AWS Certified Solution Architect - Passed!!!

Good News ! Last week I manage to pass AWS Architect Exam and I would like to share my experience which may help you to pass the exam.

Exam is challenging and easy too, if you know all products and features from AWS console it will be very easy for you if not you know the answer.

Preparation - 

I used Pluralsight training to learn and practice all lab practicals, though I have also completed professional training from AWS you will have to perform each and every lab form AWS.

Make sure you open AWS account perform all possible labs in your account. DONT FORGET TO DELETE THE RESOURCES AFTER USER OR YOU WILL END UP WITH BIG INVOICE FROM AWS. USE FEATURE CALLED AWS Budget to make sure you are using limited resources.

You can use practice questions and answers to be aware about questions types or test your skills. You will not find single question from dumps in real exam.

Say BIG NO to dumps. AWS exam is something which you can not pass with dumps so please dont believe on anyone who says that just use brain dumps and pass the exam. Its simply not possible.

Network ports for Site Recovery Manager 6.1

Toady I found good KB article about SRM ports which are required for successful implementation and site pairing.

Site Recovery Manager can experience problems if the required network ports are not open.

In a Site Recovery Manager deployment, both the protected site and the recovery site must be able to resolve the vCenter Server instance by name. The correct ports must be open on both sites for uninterrupted communication.

vCenter Server and ESXi Server network port requirements for Site Recovery Manager 6.1

Site Recovery Manager requires certain ports to be open on vCenter Server, Platform Services Controller, and on ESXi Server:

Getting VM's list which has snapshot

Snapshot feature is awesome; it helped administrators and developed in many difficult situation.

For troubleshooting and doing testing many VMware administrators get requests for creating snapshots.

With above features it has many disadvantages and biggest one is described below.
As snapshot disks has no limitations they can grow up to entire datastore size. and if you dont have proper monitoring set it will take you ti the situation where VM's become unresponsive.

To get the list of VM's which has snapshots you just run below command on powercli and it will get you list of VM's which has snapshots created.

get-vm | get-snapshot | format-lis

I dont have any output screenshot to show you but I will get uploaded as soon as possible.

There are many switch we can use with above command to export output with multiple format.

Last week I got chance to attempt VMware VCIX 6 certification exam & I just want to share my experience with my blog readers.

Last month I received special invite for VCIX 6 Beta Certification as I am already VCAP 5; I had only 2 and half week to study and refresh my skills on VMware vSphere 6. I was very busy with my office work and personal life but I was able to manage some extra efforts for preparation.

I downloaded Blueprint from VMware website and started reading. VMware has came up with lost of new goodies with vSphere 6. I will encourage you all to study hard with each and every point form blueprint.

I have signed VMware N.D.A. so I will not be sharing any questions from exam so please dont ask for questions or dumps because this exam is based on implementation and troubleshooting skills.

Do & Don't to become VCIX. or How to Pass VCAP Certification?

Attempting VCIX is very easy but passing VCIX is very hard, you need skills with hand on experience in VMware vShepre and vCenter.
This exam can not be passed with the help of dumps or questions so no dumps will help you... LOL

• Study Hard with Blueprint
• Build the lab and make sure you perform all practicals atelast once or twice in your lab.
• Read for difficult Network & storage concepts
• Fallow the best practice from VMware
• Clear your knowledge on HA and DRS concepts and also configure advance options in your lab. 
• Read listed below point carefully and fallow tips if you want to pass your examination.
• Read all documents form VMware (Free available)
• Register for CBT Nuggets or Plural Site training and take advantage from trainers skills
• Try gaining some knowledge on Storage and Networking concepts
• Learn power-shell scripting & VMware PowerCLI
• Learn VMware Update Manager
• Study about VDP
• Schedule Your Exam to nearest location of your place.
• Eat enough Breakfast also there is no break in exam for washroom. (It will be 270 minutes exam without break)
• Take care of your health from week before your test; dont fall sick before exam
• Reach exam center before time.

I have already collected all VMware training books (Free from VMware) thanks to VMware which you can download form here.

Apart from this I found there were some problem with the lab which I have already reported to VMware, which will not be there in actual live exam so nothing to worry.

All VMware vCenter related services were not starting after VMware tools installation.

Hi Reader,

Hope you are doing good..
Today I found strange problem with VMware vCenter.

Problem:

All VMware vCenter related services were not starting after VMware tools installation.

Description:

I was doing VMware SRM test in my lab, I install the windows 2012R2 VM and forgot to install VMware tools on the box and started
the VMware vCenter installtion. After finish vCenter instllation I found that VMware tools are missing.

I Added one host to cluster & began with Vmware tools installation.
After scuseedull installation of VMware tools I saw VMware webclient is not working, after cheking VMware Services in Services.msc
i found non of the Vmware service  is running, I tried all of them mnaually. I cheecked the dependuncey even registorey.

I searched all event logs but nothing I found related the issue.

I even rebooted system twice and also left the system ideal for 12 hrs but still the same.

No Vmware vCenter Service is running.

Solution:

I came accross with this problme only after installation of VMware tools and fresh Reboot, I decided to remove Vmware tools and rebooted the server.

And Wallaaaaa Server is Up with all services running.



I was shocked with this result but I was happy to see server is up and working fine.

I am still running my lab vCenter without tools.

I am working with VMware to find the root cause.

Hope you may resolve your prblem with this same.

Windows Server 2016 Active Directory installation BUG

Error determining whether the target server is already a domain controller.

I found above error (Below in screenshot) while doing active directory installation on Windows 2016.
As the windows server 2016 is in technical preview stage there are lot of bugs we have seen with windows 2016. I though this will be very important because everyone need to see how I have resolved this problem.

I got this error while doing Post install configuration of active directory.
1) I tried removing roles and features from server manager but dint help.
2) I removed the Dot net 3.5 from features
3) Rebooted the box
4) Reinstall AD roles and feature
5) and successfully installed the AD.

in my RCA I found that Dot Net 3.5 was causing problem because it was not allowing server to validate if its already a domain controller or not.
Commands were not executable so I removed it & rebooted the system & its worked for me.

Let me know if you have any other issue so we can update it to MS.

Saudi Arab Visit (Umrah)

Alhumdulilah

I got chance to visit Makka and Madina to complte Umrah in the month of Feb 2016 with my grandfather ; I wish to visit Umrah and Hajj again and again insha allah.

All preparation happened in only 3 days before flight and everything was perfect as planning was done by Rabbul Aalamin.

Here are few tips for which you should do if you are planning for Hmrah or Hajj.

Do:

1. Carry multiple copies of your Passport and Visa as soon as you reach destination Muallim will take your password.
2. Carry packed food like Biscuits and Chocolates.
3. Carry Wheel Chair if you have old person with you as you need to walk much.
4. Dont forget to do training for Umrah and Hajj arkan because its very importent.
5. Buy good quality Ehram and belt; it can be used for multiple times.
6. Carry your medisine with priscribtion by doctors as medicine is very costly in Saudi Arab.
7. When you see first time Kaba make all wish which you want from Allah before blinking your eyes.
8. Spend most of your time in Harrum and do as much as possible Umrah and Tawaf.
9. Take proper rest in nigh.
10. Carry enough money for Food, Jam Jam water and Dates (Khajur) dont waste your money buying stuff which can purchased in your city.
11. Make dua for entire umah and me.
12. buy SIM with internet connection and use Skype or Google for calling your home.
13. Perform Salat at Riyadul Jannah at Madina
14. Carry GPS tracker for your Child and old people.
15. Remember Gate Number and carry your hotel card.
16. Try to learn Arebic language ASAP.
17. After coming back to your home perform all salat in time.

Dont:

1. Dont waste your time in roaming in market
2. Dont say anything wrong word about Makka and Madinah its worrlds best place.
3. Dont fight with anyone.
4. Dont do selfie with Kaba its wrong
5. Dont leave your child or old parents alone it will be very though to find lost people.
6. Dont do sin.

I wish every muslim should get chance to visit Makka and Madina.
